Out and about in the park

We have just stayed in the park.  Today, Sat. Feb. 9, 2013 weather is warm 87 degrees at 3:00 p.m.  We have been on the 3 mile circular hiking trail twice and rode our bikes thru the park.

I don't know the name of the plant but it is starting to bloom

Dave and Misty on hiking trail

Another blooming plant

Dam on Falcon Lake.  Falcon Lake is 60 miles in length

Javelinas at a campers bird feeding station

Javelinas leaving the scene of the crime.

Deer at the picnic table across from our spot.

Notice all the trucks with boat trailers and there were even more vehicles than I could picture.

It took a rather steep angle to descend to the water.

This Saturday we have had enough fun for one day.  We are inside the trailer with the air conditioner.  The travels will continue.....

  1. Hey Guys, How's it going? You are on one of the premier fishing lakes. The biggest bass to come out of Falcon Lake is 15.12 pounds! Oh yeah and there was an aligator gar that only weighed 213 pounds. Some major bass tournaments have been held there. The lake is huge, I hope you get a chance to wet a line. I spoke to the auction folks the other day, and told her about your blog so you might be hearing from them. You pictures are great as allways, wish I were there. Weather here is gradualy improving and the days are getting longer so it looks like we might see another spring. I can't wait to get my fishing gear out and give it a whirl! Have a great day.
